Welcome!

Hi! My name is Sam, and I am a junior in the Information Science & Technology department who is minoring in Business Analytics and Data Science. I enjoy programming and hope to one day work as a software developer or data scientist. My plans after obtaining a bachelor’s degree are to go directly onto graduate school and pursue a master’s in IST. After gaining some years of work experience, I would like to eventually return to the school environment and become a teacher. Right now, I work in the LITE lab on campus as a research assistant. I get to help out with lots of cool and interesting projects involving human-computer interaction.

As for my personal background, I have lived in Bourbon all of my life. It’s a really small town of approximately 1300 people, located about 30 minutes away from campus. I hear a lot of students complain about having nothing to do in Rolla, but it’s actually much more active than the environment I am accustomed to. In my free time I usually tend to watch TV. My favorite genres are law and crime, and the old, black and white murder mystery movies.
